"Cleveland Rocks", the 1997 cover song by the The Presidents of the United States of America (originally by Ian Hunter) is arguably the song that defines the music scene in Cleveland. It was the opening theme song to The Drew Carey Show, a popular sitcom based in Cleveland. Speaking of rocking - the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum is a famous musical landmark in this great lakes city that almost defines the love of great tunes.
There is certainly much to be said about the musical scene in Cleveland and I would love to know your opionion. What are the best bars and nightclubs (that play the best music) this town has to offer? What musical television and radio stations do you listen to most often? Who are your favorite Cleveland performers and bands? What direction do you think the Cleveland music scene is taking?
Is it Drew Carey and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that define the tone of this town or is there more under the surface?
I look forward to hearing all about it!
